keeping it real

“We are built for the valley, for the ordinary stuff we are in, and that is where we have to prove our mettle.”

[valleys]
our godmother passing away before we had a last chance to see her
getting hit with a 70euro ($90) phone/internet charge
(i felt sick!)
going for a before-we-leave-for-uk-clean and discovering i need 2 fillings
(i'm phobic)
sorting-organising-packing without enough sleep

[peaks]
Miss 4 writing out a shopping list for daddy
(intelligible too!)
managing healthy eating despite stress
that she's old enough to entertain herself while mama runs around like a mad-woman
escaping into fiction, when she falls asleep
(saving sanity)

  18. So sorry to hear about your godmother Mon, I hope she was able to pass peacefully... And those terrible charges!!--I had some unexpected large ones too this week--grrrr. And the dentist, uggh, horrible but necessary (I cringe at that combo..). But I am doing a little happy dance for all of your peaks!! Yay for Miss 4 and for you! Yay for escaping into fiction!! Yay for avoiding stress eating!!! And you are almost there!! I really hope that once you get there you can put your feet up, relax, and be amazed at what you have accomplished in the last several weeks, Mon. Big hugs...

  19. the loss of a loved one is even harder when we don't get to say goodbye. I'm jealous of the time you have (scratch that) the time you TAKE to escape into fiction.

    hugs!
